Why choose Waterly?

Waterly does more than just keep you hydrated; it takes care of our environment by making small yet smart choices.

You get a blast of freshness with every sip you take, and there is one less plastic bottle to deal with for our mother planet. The refreshing and rejuvenating taste of Waterly is a testament to its quality and purity.

It's estimated that 1.3 billion plastic bottles are used each day across the world which is about 1.2million plastic bottles per minute.

Such bottles take over 450 years to decompose adding on to the 244,000 metric tons of plastic floating in our oceans and filling up our landfills.

Recycling isn't the sole answer to this conundrum as 91% of this plastic is not recycled.

Replacing plastic bottles with metal or glass alternatives results in less plastic but shifts the problem onto metal/glass recycling.

To support a holistic approach to sustainable hotel/restaurant operations, we should ensure that all alternative materials used instead of plastic are sustainably sourced, reusable or correctly recycled.

Waterly fulfils this criteria and is an ideal choice for all environmentally conscious enterprises, big or small.

What Are We

Fighting With?

Here's how much plastic trash is littering the Earth.

Mass production of plastics, which began just 6 decades ago, has accelerated so rapidly that it has created 8.3 billion metric tons - most of it in disposable products that end up as trash. If that seems like an incomprehensible quantity, it is. Even the scientists who set out to conduct the world's first tally of how much plastic has been produced, discarded, burned or put in landfills, were horrified by the sheer size of the numbers. "This kind of increase would 'break' any system that was not prepared for it, and this is why we have seen leakage from global waste systems into the oceans," says Jenna Jambeck, Env. er., University of Georgia1.

SOURCING

RESPONSIBLY

The use of renewable materials

that are continuously replenished ,

such as wood fibre from trees or bio-based

plastic from sugarcane, plays an important

role in reducing resource scarcity and

mitigating climate

change.

The Share of

Renewable Resources

Our cartons are 100% recyclable and reusable.

It is made up of plant-based materials with a significantly lower climate impact than packages made from fossil or mineral resources.

This reduces the lifetime carbon impact of our tetra packages significantly, for example, it's five times less than its steel or glass equivalent.

On average more than 70% of our Waterly carton by weight is paperboard.

This along with the plant-based polymer, present in the cap and sleeves, increases the share of renewable sources in our carton.

Our cartons are FSC certified demonstrating our support for responsible forestry based on environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable practices.

To ensure responsible sourcing, Tetra Pak introduced the Forest Stewardship Councilâ„¢ (FSC) certification system to the liquid food carton industry in 2007.The certification system allows wood fibres to be traced at every step through the supply chain, giving assurance that any product bearing the FSC logo supports forest management based on environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable practices.

Hence, Waterly recognised this great opportunity to demonstrate our support for responsible forestry through this instantly recognizable hallmark on our products.

LEAFING

THROUGH

THE LAYERS

A Waterly box is predominantly paper-based with over 70% paper content, along with 25% polymer and 5% aluminium. This packaging structure not only keeps the beverage safe for a longer period but also has a lower climate impact than another alternative packaging formats.

We recognize that sustainability is a journey, and we are taking baby steps towards a better future, hoping to create a ripple effect of conscious choices.
